DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE
CLASS:
This is routine manual work performed under immediate supervision in connection with the preparation and service of food. On occasion, Food Service Helpers may perform cooking duties involving lesser degrees of skill than regularly required of employees in the classification of cook or assistant cook. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK
ACTIVITIES:
Prepares food service facilities for the serving of food; sets tables and clears them after meals; fills condiments; cleans tables, chairs, and dining areas; cleans, washes and otherwise prepares food for cooking/serving; helps cooks, assistant cooks or bakers in any phase of their duties; washes dishes, pots and pans by hand machine; sweeps mops and cleans kitchen; maintains a clean sanitary and safe work area; assist in storing/disposing of foods and supplies.
*Stocks, sorts, counts, transport, all beverages, menus, and vending food items from school to school.
*Transports and lifts 20–50 lbs at a time with assistance.
*Transports all food to prospect, schools and off-premise for daily service and catering.
*Picks up will call and food from vendors that is possibly needed daily.
*Helps rotate and put away stock with managers. W/L/D all products per state guidelines. Follows FIFO procedures required.
*Counts, tracks, and fills out daily vending logs for vending, change logs, orders product for vending. Transport logs to and
from the bank
*Picks up deposits and transports for the district to and from the bank deposits. Signs for the bank register.
*On call for all onsite managers for assistance when a call in occurs.
*Allocates/Troubleshoots set pricing on all vending machines and markets product to consumers. Stocks change in all machines.
*Reimburses money to customers in vending machines per manager.
May act as
Cashier.
