 Boys Assistant Basketball Coach

Job Summary:
Assist the head coach in developing a competitive basketball program by helping plan practices, teaching fundamental skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and supporting the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and conducting daily practices.
• Teach basketball fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, and player development.
• Provide individual and team instruction during practices and games.
• Scout opponents and help develop game plans.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage positive behavior.
• Assist with game-day operations, including equipment setup and player supervision.
• Help organize team travel, fundraising, and community service activities.
• Ensure compliance with school, league, and state athletic regulations.
• Promote good sportsmanship and represent the school positively.

 

Job Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (if required).
• Previous coaching or playing experience preferred.
